wouldn't the better idea be to have the unit which comes out of the drop pod kill the tank? It might be a tad more reliable that way... But I can see how using the drop pod could save some points.

Wait wait wait...How can you kill a tank with a drop pod and some good rolls? Are we talking D.M.L. Pods or lucky stormbolter rolls on rear armour?

If your in this Group, you probably like 40k (at least I hope so)! In which case I am sure your something like us and listen to the various 40k podcasts like Dice Like Thunder and 40k Radio. If you listen to them, you probably finish them early in the week and are left craving more 40k. Check us out over at http://imperialvoxcast.com and let us fill in that 40k talk craving. The War for the Cure at Renaissance Games(ren-games.com)or (war4thecure.org) june 27 2009
The War for the Cure is a Warhammer 40,000 tournament. 100% of the registration fee goes to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma society and their mission to find a cure for blood cancer.
The tournament is team based. Each team consists of two players with individual 750 point, codex legal armies with one small change to the F.O.C. See army construction below for more information.
The tournament will consist of three rounds. Each round will consist of the same mission/ deployment played by all participants in that round. In addition to the day’s set games, each army will have a “secret mission” which will be assigned at the beginning of the day. Each player will be responsible for completing their secret mission and having the result verified by the Warmaster after each game.
Each player will bring a codex legal, 750 point army. The army must fit the WftC Force Organization Chart below.
Slot Min Max
Hq 1 1
troops 1 3
Elites 0 2
fast 0 2
heavy 0 2
All armies must be painted and based to at least a three color standard.
Each player will register with a team mate and combine their armies to form one 1500 point army.
Army special abilities will ONLY affect the army they are brought as a part of. For example, if player one brings a Salamander’s Army with Vulcan Hestan and his teammate brings a Sisters of Battle army Vulcan’s special rules regarding flamers will NOT carry over to the Sisters’ units.
Armies are strongly encouraged to be “fluffy” with regards to established Games Workshop background, but are not required to be. Armies will be judged both individually and as a team for the various appearance and composition awards
All current Games Workshop FAQs will be followed for the tournament. If you have a question regarding army composition, please email the tournament staff at war4thecure@comcast.net. On the day of the tournament, judges will be on hand to handle all rules questions. The decisions of the judges are final.
